Theonilde s.a.s. uses different types of brass, such as CW614N, CW617N, CW602N (ADZ).
The choice depends on the type of processing to be carried out and the particular characteristics to be obtained. All the materials employed throughout processing are purchased from the best brass suppliers in order to guarantee customers the highest level of product quality.
Hot-pressing
Theonilde s.a.s. is situated in a highly industrialised area of Brescia and therefore can avail of excellent and long-lasting working relationships with external presses.
The company, as regards hot-pressing, avails of Hatebur presses for the
production of caps in sizes up to 1". For more complex and/or heavy parts,
Hydromec presses are used.
Advantages of hot-pressing
As compared with casting, hot-pressing offers a higher quality output under several aspects: material integrity, dimensional tolerances and surface finish. At same time, hot pressing is considered more advantageous due to shorter processing times, the recovery of waste, lower manufacturing costs and the increased reliability of the production process.
Thanks to these aspects, forging produces a stronger product with perfectly
tight seals, restricted dimensional tolerances and lower overall costs.
Processing on transfer machines
The processing department is made up of various machine tools that differ in type, size and complexity of the part to be processed.
The transfer machines generally process hot pressed products; the automatic
transfer machines are used to process brass nuts and fittings, whereas more
complex components that require several operations are produced on the
manual transfer machines where a greater number of processing units have
been installed.
Processing on automatic lathes
Single and multi-spindle lathes as well as CNC lathes are used to obtain components that are processed directly from various types of brass bars.
The company's multi-spindle lathes allow a bar passage of 18mm to 90mm.
Whereas the CNC lathes allow a bar passage of 18mm to 70mm.
